- an unique wilderness adventure
This longer daytrip runs through one of Austervefsna´s wildest canyons, all the way down to Stillelva. The rapids bigger and more technical than on our shorter day trip which runs further downstream, and we are really immersed in the remote wilderness.
In places we need to get out and walk past rapids that are not suitable to be descended, and we will share endless moments of joy and fun in the beautiful river canyons.
Food, transportation, gear and accomodation is provided for the whole duration of the trip.
You will get a safety briefing and a paddle technique briefing before starting the trip.
Your guides are absolute professionals with experience on rivers and safety for around 20 years each. This section of the river is considered difficult, with technical rapids. This section of the Austervefsna is only suitable for people with good physical condition. You have to be able to walk well, and know how to swim. The age limit is 16 years.
You will get a wetsuit, neoprene shoes, life jacket, helmet and a paddle for the trip. NOTE: If you have very large feet (such as size 46 and up) please bring your own running shoes that can get wet to use on the river.
- If you freeze easily bring woollen underwear (no cotton!) or superundertøy/fleece for added comfort under your neoprene wetsuit. Avoid cotton as it gets very cold when wet. Also bring woollen socks for using under the neoprene boots.
- Take off jewlery and watches before the trip, and please note that we do not take repsonsibility for any kind of valuables such as phones, cameras, jewlery and more brought onto the river.
- Let the staff know as soon as possible if you have health problems such as, but not limited to, heart conditions, diabetes, back injuries or shoulder injuries.
